Grebenstein

I'm sorry, but I don't have pictures of the three days workshop in Grebenstein, because there was no one who could take pics for me;-)
On Saturday afternoon Nadine and I waited in Kassel for Mena and Viola..together with them we drove to the school in Grebenstein. We were so excited and nervous! When we arrived Nartan gave us a big welcome...we went inside the gym...when we went inside we had to walk on the stage behing many curtains..and hey we could hear the YAs sing and see them sitting there...we went to the other entry and waited that the YAs would finish their meeting and when they finally did some of them came outside, i guess the first one who noticed us was Charlie! He came and hugged us and then he went inside and shouted to TeeJ that he has a visitor ;-) It was so awesome to hug him again and when we'd talked a bit I saw Alaina...it was soo amazing to see her again and to hug her! I missed her so much! Soon I saw that there were many other YAs I already new from other Germany Tours like JT, Tara, Jody, Charlie, TJ, Alaina, David, Vincent..and Ali was tourmanager! It was great to see them all again, even most of them didn't remember me...but that's normal ;-) too many kids in a too short time! I often wonder how they can remember so many...When I asked JT if he can remember me, he said "yes, you're from the Engelsburg in Kassel"...that was weird! I looked so different...in 2003 I was small, fat, had glasses and didn't really talk to him.., but now I had red hair, no glasses.....maybe someone told him before I asked him, hehe ;-)
Then we started the workshop as always, the show was the same like in spring...I loved that, because I didn't have to concentrate on the steps as much as I had to in spring...I could dance more powerful and with more fun! As always TJ and I hugged each other before we sang "The Prayer"...
like in every workshop we made many new friends, german and american! There were so many YA who we didn't know untill the workshop and who are so amazing people, like Becky, Troy and Jesten...
On Saturday we got our soli..Mena sang "Let it Be" again and was awesome as always ;-) I had to do the "Beatles Speech"..for me it was much harder to say something in front of so many people than to sing something..it was a great new experience.
Vincent told me I should do the "Dudelsack" with Julie, well not my favourite part in the show, but hey who cares? and I really tried but it my knees hurt too much after i tried it a couple of times and I was afraid that I could dislocate my knee again..at this moment I really hated my knee because I must have been looked like I didn't want to do this part...it really was the part I didn't like most but I would have loved to do it just to do something new and crazy...
When we learnt "Step in Time" I had the same problem again...but this time I couldn't restrain crying...instead of dancing this part I sang with Chelsea...
In one of the breaks Mena, Viola and I sat outside on the grass and Troy came with his guitar and played some of his songs for us! His music is awesome! after the show he gave his cd to us...it's really good!

Awesome Homestays!!

Well, I guess we couldn't have wished for better homestays! They were so nice and funny! In the evening when their children went to bed, Mena and our dad played guitar and we sang together and we played the really funny game "Villa Paletti" it was awesome (well I was too scared that our "villa" might break down)!

The Young Americans
Fall 2005
Grebenstein

In fall 2005, I really thought I woudn't be able to do a workshop or to even see the yas! I was really sad, because Alaina, TJ, Charlie and some other friends were back in Germany. But on a Friday evening Viola called me and told me that the YAs would be in Grebenstein the next day and that we could do a workshop there! I was standing at the Königsplatz and Kassel and just yelled because I couldn't believe it, hehe! The next day Viola, Mena, Nadine and I drove to Grebenstein were we met Mira, Kristin, Kaddah, Ali, Marcel and so many other great people! We did the workshop there and tried to find a homestay, because we didn't know where to sleep! (we would have slept outside...it didn't matter for us)...we asked a couple of people but no one had space for three girls...finally in the evening after the workshop we met a girl that said we could sleep at her house! luckily we really could! first they said we could sleep in their campmobile, but in the end they told us we could sleep in their working room on a couch and camping mat. They were so awesome and Nick Cimino was staying there too! we had soo much fun!
